Why should you consider art therapy?
Art can be a safe haven for drafting new edits of your story. Take a moment to reflect on the memories and connections you have with art materials.
Art materials can engage all your senses, creating new experiences and understanding for your brain and nervous system.
Can you recall the scent of Crayola crayons? The sensation when the waxy crayon crumbled on your paper? The experience of making drippy art with crayons and an iron? The memory of the warm wax paper?
Did you use paste? Probably glue sticks!
Were you one of those kids who layered liquid glue on their hands and diligently waited for it to dry, savoring the satisfying peel?
Each of us possesses an innate creativity. When we return to art, we reconnect with forgotten aspects of ourselves and offer nurturing care to the younger versions of ourselves.
Perfection is not a goal in art therapy.
The benefits of art therapy are immeasurable.
